By choosing a hero, you have the opportunity to not only realize something indirectly, but above all, to share your opinions, even if you have never met your hero. A hero allows you to express an ideal either because of his physical appearance, his talent or his influence in the world. I think it is difficult to say that people will have only one hero in their lifetime because, in time, they may change their mind and notice that what this person embodies is no longer what is the most important to them.
That is why I read articles about him. By reading his biography and comparing it to the social situation nowadays, I realized that his speech still has its place. For example, he fought against discrimination, but always on legal grounds.
Indeed, he studied in England and became a lawyer. To achieve India's independence, Gandhi knew that he would not manage it with violence, so he decided to educate Indians to help them become better citizens. Here we can see that he is a man with convictions and that, in spite of his social rank and his several journeys abroad, Gandhi never forgot his country and gave the population the benefit of his knowledge.
That is why I find him brave and persevering, which are important qualities. Gandhi was a supporter of non-violence. Gandhi's most significant success came in when he challenged the British government by saying that he would personally defy the Salt Tax if it was not rescinded within the following ten days. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, a social reformer and educator, taught the Muslims that education and cooperation with the British was necessary for their survival in the society.
Khan was also the first to come up with the idea of a separate Muslim nation. Hindu revivalists also made the tension stronger between the Muslims and the Hindus. Satyagraha promoted the use of civil disobedience and nonviolence as a way of obtaining political and social targets.
In , Gandhi began one of his most defiant acts towards the British yet. It was a direct action campaign of tax resistance and nonviolent protest against the British salt monopoly in colonial India, and triggered the wider Civil Disobedience Movement.
As he continued on this day march to produce salt without paying the tax, growing numbers of Indians joined him along the way. Therefore he believed that the principle of ahimsa was the only way the world could move forwards. This is due mostly to the profound inspiration Gandhi was to. Gandhi himself was thrown out of a first-class train car because he was not white. From the above facts, it can be said that Mahatma Gandhi was an Athenian. Mahatma Gandhi was interested in public affairs, respected tradition and culture of every individual and was a true saint.
He was interested in the improvement of public behaviour and public matters and so was Athenians. He was also an inspiring person who inspired civil rights movement and freedom across the world.
