Where is blizzard beach located

We highly recommend arriving at park opening to get in plenty of ride time when crowds are at their lowest. Plus you can make sure you snag enough beach chairs for your whole squad!

Since it's a water park, you can't exactly wear your mask while you're swimming or going down a waterslide Following the rest of the resort, masks are still required in indoor locations but are optional outside. Masks are not allowed to be worn in the water or on water slides. For Blizzard Beach, masks are required in the restrooms and dressing rooms, shops and any fully indoor locations. All of the dining locations are outdoors so you are not required to wear a mask.

Since the water park is primarily all outside, you won't have to worry too much about wearing a mask, but be sure to have one with you! We recommend carrying it around in a sealable plastic bag to keep it dry or you leave it at your beach chair. Leap's swim shorts have pockets, so we were able to stick each mask in its own plastic bag. He'd carry them around for us, so we'd have them at all times.

It may not be the most convenient rule to follow, but we toadally understand it's meant to keep us and other frog families safe! There's no shortage of fun and excitement at Blizzard Beach, and there is an attraction for every thrill level and desired experience. From a lazy day floating on the river to plummeting near-vertically down a slide, Blizzard Beach is here to meet your desired pace for the perfect day.

Generally speaking, we find that Blizzard Beach has a few more daring thrill rides than Typhoon Lagoon, but if you're getting the Park Hopper Plus Option , then there is no reason not to visit both at least once during your trip! The Blizzard Beach Chairlift is a real ski lift that takes you to the top of Mount Gushmore, where some of the best rides can be found. This transportation system is a blast in itself and is a great nod to the ski resort theme.

Cross Country Creek. Lazy river, anyone? You can catch Leap and me letting our cares melt away on an inner tube taking us through all of Blizzard Beach on our days here. This is the perfect way to relax while still experiencing the park. Downhill Double Dipper. Lily and Tad are obsessed with facing off on these two enclosed slides, where gates release you on your inner tube to race your opponent to the finish line.

Flags mark your course as though you're in a real ski challenge for this foot dark, downhill plummet. Your times are even displayed on digital stop clocks overhead! Melt-Away Bay. Blizzard Beach's low-key wave pool offers the perfect atmosphere to take a quick dip or hop in an inner tube to enjoy the bobbing waves. While out at sea, listen for the island-themed holiday music playing throughout the park.

Runoff Rapids. Propelled by the runoff from Mount Gushmore, three distinctly different water slides twist and turn you on an inner tube through an open slide and end in a splash! Slush Gusher. Snow Stormers. This ride takes you face-forward on a mat down a winding path for thrilling fun. Summit Plummet. Summit Plummet is the crown jewel and absolute highlight of Blizzard Beach. You can see park icons across Walt Disney World from high in the sky before rocketing down 12 stories at incredible speeds, which will be documented by a digital stop clock.

Fair warning that this ride is only for the bravest frogs! Teamboat Springs. Take up to six members of your frog squad for 1, feet of fun and lasting memories. Toboggan Racers. The excellent part about Disney's waterparks is that they have areas specifically designed for the tadpoles in your family. An all-in-one, easy-to-access area featuring kiddie slides and other splashtastic adventures welcome your little ones for pint-sized fun at Blizzard Beach.

Ski Patrol Training Camp. The area includes a mini inner-tube ride, side-by-side downhill slides, chutes tunneling through the snow and miniature snow-banked slides.

Note that parent supervision is required at all times. During certain times, mobile ordering may be required for certain locations. Note that during the off-season, certain restaurants remain closed due to low demand. But don't worry — there are still plenty of options to choose from! Arctic Expeditions.

Cooling Hut. Frostbite Freddy's Frozen Freshments. This makeshift snow lodge offers some Disney World classics, such as orange swirl ice cream, loaded nachos and turkey legs. Snowplow turned ice cream truck, I. Expeditions presents sundaes, floats and more including the iconic Sand Pail: chocolate and vanilla soft-serve ice cream, waffle pieces, sprinkles, cookie pieces, hot fudge, caramel sauce, whipped cream and a cherry.

Lottawatta Lodge. Calling all vegetarians and vegans! Lottawatta Lodge has options for you. Delicious rice bowls top off a menu of standard options including wraps, salads and chicken strips. Mini Donuts. Mini doughnuts are a staple of the Disney World waterparks. Topped with regular or cinnamon sugar and combined with a variety of dipping sauces, these are the perfect poolside snack. Polar Pub. Polar Pub is Leap's and my favorite "adult pit stop. Warming Hut. Warming Hut is a great place for a full lunch.

It's home to my favorite salad on Disney property, topped with grilled chicken, feta and watermelon. Wraps, sandwiches and pulled pork round out this loaded menu. While we've never found private seating to be needed at Blizzard Beach, this is a great option if you're planning on spending a full day at the park with a larger group or for a special occasion.

Both of the private seating options below can be reserved by calling or checking in at Beach Haus upon arrival for same-day availability. Each reserved patio area accommodates up to six guests with tons of luxuries included.

You'll be comfortable as can be with cushioned seating, towels, refillable drink mugs and a cooler filled with ice and bottled water.

We think it's a great perk that these patios include a locker to keep all of your goodies safe. Attendants are on hand to take your food orders so you don't ever have to leave the sun or shade, whatever you're into! Accommodating up to four guests, two reserved loungers, two beach chairs, a table, beach umbrellas and towels offer the perfect setup for a day of relaxation. Teamboat Springs is the world's longest "family white-water raft ride" at 1, feet m long.

It sends guests down a twisting series of rushing waterfalls. Guests sit in large blue rubber rafts, which can hold a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 people, equipped with handles to hold on while the gushing water takes you down the slide. No infants and other health restrictions are advised. It has two places where it almost levels off, only to drop back down again. As such, it is one of only a few water slides where "air time" is achieved. If you want to reach maximum air, raise your crossed legs just before you reach the second hump and keep straight.

Access to the Purple Slope attractions all of which have at least two nearly identical tracks, and as such are designed for racing is from a pathway next to the catch pool of Downhill Double Dipper. Downhill Double Dipper is one of the world's only side-by-side racing slides. It is located next to Snow Stormers on Mount Gushmore. Its slides are 50 feet 15 m high and are feet 70 m long. Time clocks count-off each downhill heat and the runs are outfitted with automated audio equipment that signals the start of each race.

Also, it is one of the few racing slides where push-off speed is not a factor, as gates hold back riders until it is time for the race to begin. Snow Stormers is a "mat slide" consisting of three flumes that are feet m long. It descends from the top of the mountain and follows a switchback course through ski-type slalom gates.

Guests lay on their stomachs on the toboggan style mat as they ride down the flumes. Mat pickup at the top Shares mat conveyor with Toboggan Racers. It sends guests racing over exhilarating dips as they descend the "snow" slope along the side of Mount Gushmore. Guests lay on their stomachs on the toboggan style mat as they race to the finish line.

Mat pickup at the top shares mat conveyor with Snow Stormers. The Red Slope is found at the very rear of the park, containing only one attraction a multi-slide attraction, but not designed for racing, due to the slides being so different.

Memorial Day and Easter week are exceptions, when crowds might be high but hours still limited to seven or eight-hour days. We think five days are very well spent at the theme parks instead. You definitely do not need a full day at Blizzard Beach if you just want to experience what it has to offer and take an hour or two to relax. You can easily experience the entire park in a few hours if you arrive at open.

If both water parks are open for, say, 10 hours, you can probably experience everything offered by both in a single day the water park ticket covers both water parks except on the busiest days. Moreso than the theme parks, crowds at the water parks are very weather-dependent. If the most beautiful day of a January week occurs on a Saturday, your crowds might be higher than anticipated. Generally, crowds are worst from April through July.

The bigger problem with crowds is that they take all the best seats. Off-season crowds, particularly on cool days, are non-existent. On a recent visit in January, we were done with all the slides okay, we saved one for the afternoon, but we could have fit it in by 11AM following a 10AM open.

We want to quickly note two Disney park features missing from Blizzard Beach. Second, there are no ride photographs or Photopass photographers at Blizzard Beach. Just in case you forget any water park essentials, you can purchase them at Beach Haus. Life jackets are complimentary for all guests. Guests at Disney hotels get the perk of Disney transport access. The water parks often require either a transfer or a shared bus. Getting to Blizzard Beach via Disney transport usually requires either a stop or transfer at Animal Kingdom, though direct buses may be available seasonally.

Blizzard Beach does have free parking, so driving is a great option. In the past, Disney has tested a bus between Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach for water park hoppers both are included on a single ticket. Blizzard Beach has seven water slide rides, one chairlift ride, one kiddie play area, one pre-teen play area, a lazy river, and a wave pool.

The seven slides are broken up into three areas— Green Slopes 3 slides , Purple Slopes 3 slides , and Red Slopes 1 attraction with 3 slides. In this section, we provide our reviews and for some rides ranking of the rides. For each ride, we also provide the type, height requirements, other requirements, and location. Then we cover the other three main attractions, followed by the two play areas. And coming from that birds-eye view, pushing yourself off that ledge to start the ride is nothing short of terrifying.

You proceed to drop nearly straight down twelve stories, much of which is open air. The best thing about this ride, compared to other similar rides, is that it angles out gradually, which makes for a pleasant landing. Each drop gets a little bigger and the third almost sends you airborne before coming in for a soft finish.

Slush Gusher is a great balance of thrill ride and pleasant waterslide. It also gets bonus points for the great view you get from the top. Hit the mogul slopes as you take off face-first down this zigging and zagging ski slope.

This ride is great because this same track would typically be a tube slide, but the switch to a face-first mat ride really makes it stand out. Runoff Rapids comprises three slides, one enclosed and two open.

All three slides follow roughly the same track, and are a few of the longest ride times in the park. If this ride was a little faster, it might even be ranked one spot higher. The two open slides are better than the enclosed one, and they are the slides that really earned its rank. The enclosed slide is really dark, and for such a long ride, gets a little claustrophobic.

Grab your friends and race face-first down the slopes! Up to eight racers can slide at a time and the lifeguards countdown to the start of each race. This slide is one of two slides in the park that incorporates competition into the attraction and in our opinion, does it best. The fact that this ride is number six really speaks to the quality of attractions at Blizzard Beach.

Premium reserved spaces are available for rent up to days in advance. Polar Patio includes a large umbrella for shade, locker, all-day drink mugs, cooler with ice and bottled water, upgraded lounge furniture, service of an attendant via a convenient call button and towels.
