While we have ample opportunity and infinite reasons throughout the year to express respect and gratitude for our dads, Father's Day enables us to recognize them in a special way.
On this day, let us give thanks for and to our Nation's fathers. They have surely earned a place of honor in our hearts and prayers. I invite the States and communities and people of the United States to observe that day with appropriate ceremonies as a mark of appreciation and abiding affection for their fathers. I direct government officials to display the flag of the United States on all Federal Government buildings, and I urge all Americans to display the flag at their homes and other suitable places on that day.

Fortunately, in recent years, it is getting more media attention, schools organize activities related to Father's Day and retailers promote buying fathers special greeting cards and male-oriented gifts such as electronics and tools. Expenses related to the celebration of Father's Day are still much smaller than those associated with the Mother's Day.
